Hazardous Materials

Asbestos was used in the manufacture of numerous building materials up until the late 70’s.  It can be found in flooring, texture coat, drywall, siding, pipe insulation and fire proofing just to name a few.  However, while most of these products had asbestos added in to them vermiculite did not.  Vermiculite insulation contains asbestos as a natural by product of the mining process and so one must exercise diligence during testing to avoid a false reading.

Once it was discovered that asbestos is a cancer-causing agent it was removed from the manufacturing process.  It is important to note that while the production of asbestos containing materials was stopped in the late 1970’s, there has been asbestos discovered in buildings constructed as late as 1986.

Cancer caused by asbestos exposure does not present for 15 to 30 years and can be lethal within 2 years.  While not everyone is susceptible to contracting cancer due to asbestos exposure, there is no test to determine who is or is not at risk.  Therefore, it is best to engage a professional for abatement of all asbestos containing materials.

Our staff is fully trained to ensure the safe removal of these products from any type of building.  Utilizing the most recent industry technology, we complete all projects with as little disruption to the business activities and lives of our clients.
